Viktor Gyokeres, forward for Sporting and the Sweden national team, gave an interview to Swedish television TV4 in which he spoke about the differences between the English and Portuguese championships and adapting to the leonine club.
Comparison: “The difference between the championships (English and Portuguese) lies in what is allowed to be done in games. Football in England is much more physical, but in Portugal there are more interruptions, free play and, above all, much more simulations.”
Adapt to the way of playing in Portugal? “Learn to fall? No. Maybe I have to be more careful with my arms, because so far I’ve seen two yellow ones. I have to improve in this aspect, otherwise there will be much more during the season.”
Adaptation to Sporting: “The integration has been easy, with the people and the environment. I am very happy. Sporting was the club that showed the most interest. There are many things that made me choose Sporting. Its size, its history, the fact that it plays for the national title and the cups, in addition to playing in European competitions. It is a huge club, the choice was not difficult.”
Compliments to Rúben Amorim: “I have a very good coach (Rúben Amorim). I think I can learn a lot from him. All coaches are great. If I continue at my level, this will be a very good season.”
