Mayor spoke at the opening of the Thinking Football Summit 2023, which takes place in Porto.
Rui Moreira, Mayor of Porto, spoke this Thursday morning during the opening ceremony of the second edition of the Thinking Football Summit 2023, which takes place precisely in the Invicta city, and addressed the passion he has for football.
Recognizing that the city of Porto “would hardly be recognized without football”, and stressing that he is also a fan and doesn’t want “to be more than a fan”, the mayor then spoke of the passion that football has had.
“There are those who try to demonize football, there are those who try to say that football is a bad thing. For my part, as mayor of Porto, I already liked football before and I will continue to like it a lot later. Football has a lot more good than bad, compared to other economic activities. To all the people connected to football who are here, believe that football continues to be a great sport. It’s a shame that some people who make a living from it say bad things about it, but those are other stories”, said Rui Moreira.
