Renato Paiva is no longer the coach of Bahia. The Portuguese coach resigned from his position on Wednesday night (6), in an official statement published on the club’s website, the board of directors of Tricolor thanked him for the service provided, and is looking for a new commander for the remainder of the season.
On social networks, one of the most commented subjects this Wednesday is about who will replace Paiva in charge of Bahia. One of the names most talked about by Tricolor fans is Maurício Barbieri, who made history at the helm of RB Bragantino, and had a less than prestigious spell at Vasco da Gama.
In the Cruzmaltino team, Maurício Barbieri coached the team in 26 matches, adding up to 9 wins, 5 draws and 12 defeats. After a sequence of six consecutive defeats in the Brasileirão, the Basque board opted for the commander’s departure.
Not even the bad campaign in the team from Rio displeased the suggestion of the name for the Bahia fan. As commented by some fans on Twitter, Barbieri is a qualified coach, used to working in big clubs, with the potential to help Tricolor in this final part of the Brasileirão.
Oxe! So take the view that this one is great!
Mauricio Barbieri saw it!
That’s the one I’d get, there he is! for my tricolor, so come!!!!With this coach used to the company club, our Bahia City is going to beat a BABA!
At Vasco it didn’t go well, but who did? Get connected! https://t.co/hiEj0dN7I9 pic.twitter.com/hnFZMSq4Uz

Trajectory at RB Bragantino pleases Bahia fans
Between September 2020 and November 2022, Maurício Barbieri had one of the most memorable moments of his career. Coaching RB Bragantino, who had just moved up to Série A, after joining in 2019, the young coach helped shape the winning game identity of the team from the interior of São Paulo, and is used so far by Pedro Caixinha.
There were 160 games in charge of Massa Bruta, with one of the most impressive results being runner-up in the Copa Sudamericana against Athletico Paranaense. Due to this emblematic performance, the fans of Bahia felt excited to believe in the possibility of the professional taking over the team, and doing the same for Tricolor.
I agree, he took the Bragantino to a South American final and was wronged at Vasco

knows a lot, the teacher is good dms. At Vasco it went wrong because of the pressure from the fans, if it stayed a few more months it would be ctz a vacancy in the liberators. It will shine in Bahia

Vascaínos praise and cheer for Babieri in Bahia
Maurício Barbieri was fired from Vasco da Gama after a sequence of six consecutive defeats in the Brazilian Championship. The coach faced serious problems regarding the squad, and the lack of parts promised by the SAF at the beginning of the season.
Even with the performance well below expectations, the news about the young coach being a possible target for Bahia pleased the Vasco da Gama fans, who even cheer for the success of the coach in the Bahian team. For many, the problem of Vasco’s poor performance with Barbiéri was the result of poor management work behind the scenes at the club.
fuck man, no need to hurt like that… with that said, I AGREE! MAURICIO BARBIERI IN BAHEEA!!!
