Vitória de Guimarães faces Tondela on Saturday, in the second round of the League Cup
The coach of Vitória de Guimarães, Paulo Turra, said this Friday, at the press conference previewing Saturday’s game with Tondela, in the second round of the League Cup, that the match is about winning, just like the competition.
“The objective is to win the League Cup, but first we have to confirm our presence in the group stage. As I have been saying, regardless of who is on the other side, we respect everyone, but we fear no one”, he began by saying, guaranteeing , on the other hand, that last week’s heavy defeat at Luz (4-0) did not affect the players, on the contrary.
“It’s not good to lose a game, but the week was very good. We worked even more intensely, we increased our metrics to have an intense team from the first to the last minute of each game”, he said, finally addressing the arrival of a new member of the technical team, assistant João Costeado, who, unlike Turra, has UEFA level IV.
“His arrival is very important. It was a recommendation from the club, which I readily accepted. He’s a Victorian, he played and trained at Vitória, he has a Victorian soul and will certainly help a lot”, he praised.
