Frederico Varandas, present this Friday at the “Thinking Football Summit”, a League event taking place in Porto until Saturday, spoke about the name of the Sporting Academy, the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is indisputably the best Portuguese player in history, perhaps indisputably the best of any nationality. When a kid walks through that gate, I want him to feel like he could one day be Cristiano”, he began by saying.
“It’s fair for Ronaldo and for Sporting. To show that the best player, perhaps of all time, was formed at Sporting. It would be a strategic mistake not to take advantage of what we have produced to date”, he concluded.
