The accumulated value of R$177 million in sales from young Corinthians athletes was a topic on social media this Friday (8). According to most internet users, the amount does not correspond to the true market value of the jewelry, and the club could have raised much more. One of the sales most felt by Fiel Torcida was that of defender Murillo, who signed with Nottingham Forest, in England. Timão received 12 million euros (R$ 64.4 million reais at the current price), and can receive another R$ 10.7 in performance bonuses.
According to fans, the young defender should be traded for a much higher value, however the urgency in raising funds to pay off the debts meant that the Alvinegra board did not think twice before selling the athlete, who was a highlight of the team under the command of Vanderlei Luxemburgo. On Twitter, Fiel Torcida took advantage of a publication on the SCCP News page to criticize the current board, and say that the club has to professionalize its management as quickly as possible to regain its leading role on the national stage.
And you will see this money disappear in the next debt declaration by the board. Corinthians will not improve as long as the board is not professional.

Corinthians fans criticize president for amount raised
Considered low by Corinthians fans, the amount of R$177 million raised from the sales of Mantuan, Piton, Adson, Pedro and Murillo, should be much better worked and negotiated by the club. The million-dollar box office revenues, used to pay off debts for the construction of the Neo Química Arena, are also criticized by Fiel, who believes that one of the main culprits for the team’s bad moment since the beginning of 2023 is the club’s president, Duílio Monteiro Alves, who is even in his last year of office.
According to reports from fans, with this amount raised, it will be possible for the club to reduce its debt, which is around R$915 million. Despite the feeling that the club could have raised much more with each of the athletes sold, Fiel Torcida’s expectation is that the club will be able to organize itself financially, and be able to invest more in the next season.
They sold about eight players for very little and only got that amount, this just proves the amateurism of these guys, they don’t know how to value players

It sold so much and raised so little…
This is the result of having such an amateur and tangled management with such obscure negotiations and connections.— Denilson Lourenço (@DenilsonLoure17) September 8, 2023

Corinthians takes advantage of the FIFA Data stoppage to recover players
Due to Data FIFA, the Brazilian Series A Championship was suspended. Practically 70% of the teams in the first division of the Brasileirão donated players to the South American teams, which are competing in the continent’s qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Renato Augusto was spared from the Derby on day three. According to the Corinthians Medical Department, the player could suffer a more serious injury if he played against Palmeiras. For the club’s physiotherapists, the player must be available to the team as soon as the FIFA Date ends.
