Fernando Gomes made his debut in official matches for FC Porto on September 8, 1974
FC Porto remembered this Friday the official debut of Bibota de Ouro, Fernando Gomes, for the Dragons, which took place precisely on September 8, 1974.
“On this day, in 1974, Fernando Gomes, who would later come to be known as Bibota de Ouro, made his debut in official matches for the FC Porto main team. At just 17 years old, Gomes started in the first round of the League against against CUF and scored the two winning goals (2-1)… It was the beginning of a story of unforgettable goals and victories for the scorer and for the dragons”, can be read on the blue and white emblem’s social media.
