The “Today and Always Sporting” movement speaks of “countless violations of sporting truth” in the first four rounds of the I League and asks those responsible for the lions to take firm action.
The “Today and Always Sporting” Movement calls on the governing bodies of Sporting Clube de Portugal and Sporting Futebol SAD to “lead a revolution in Portuguese football, for the defense of sporting truth, for the ethical regeneration of national football structures and for the definition and implementation of a new paradigm for this important sector of the national economy.”
The statement from that group of seven partners, issued this Wednesday, follows the “events that occurred in the first four rounds of the I League, with numerous violations of sporting truth”.
“The fight for the regeneration of national football and the defense of the club’s best interests must deserve from the directors of Sporting Clube de Portugal and the respective SAD, and from all Sporting fans, a permanent focus on the club’s uncompromising defense! The importance of Sporting in Portuguese society, as the greatest national sporting power, demands this, to safeguard Portuguese football with a more honest, true and transparent future!”, warns the Leonine movement.

“In view of the events that occurred in the first four rounds of the first Portuguese football league, with numerous violations of sporting truth, and, in view of the challenges posed in the short term to this important national sporting modality, the Hoje e Semper Sporting Movement hereby , appeal to the governing bodies of Sporting Clube de Portugal and Sporting Futebol SAD, to lead a revolution in Portuguese football, for the defense of sporting truth, for the ethical regeneration of national football structures and for the definition and implementation of a new paradigm for this important sector of the national economy. The three pillars of action in this fight can be summarized as follows:
3 V”s – Values. Truth. Vision.
Values - Permanent requirement in the ethics of actions and behaviors of different sports agents;
Truth – Unrelenting fight for sporting truth, whether in the sphere of arbitration and justice, or in the various ongoing judicial investigations, using all available resources, including, if necessary, the club’s media;
Vision – Taking a leadership position in the next electoral acts of Portuguese football structures and on the issue of centralization of television rights;
The fight for the regeneration of national football and for the defense of the best interests of the club must deserve from the directors of Sporting Clube de Portugal and the respective SAD, and from all sporting fans, a permanent focus on the uncompromising defense of the club! The importance of Sporting in Portuguese society, as the greatest national sporting power, so demands, to safeguard Portuguese football with a more honest, true and transparent future!
