FC Porto’s central defender received 37.30% of the votes from Liga Betclic coaches. He surpassed Pedro Malheiro and Diomande.
Iván Marcano was elected Defender of the Month of the I League, in an award for August and which was voted on by the coaches of the main competition in Portuguese football. The FC Porto defender collected 37.30% of the votes, surpassing Pedro Malheiro (Boavista), with 15.08%, and Diomande (Sporting), with 10.32%.
In the period in question, Marcano was a total player in the Dragons’ three games and scored two goals that were decisive in giving the blue and whites victory, against Rio Ave and Farense.
Bruno Varela, it should be noted, is the Goalkeeper of the Month.
