Cruzeiro stumbled in the first game of the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil under-20 and drew 1-1, with Sampaio Corrêa, at the Castelão Stadium, in São Luís, Maranhão. The goals in the match, both beautiful, were scored by Henrique, for the Minas Gerais team, and by Fonseca, for the Maranhão team.
Even away from home, Cruzeiro took no notice of Sampaio Corrêa and opened the scoring just 11 minutes into the first half. And it was a great goal. Midfielder Henrique won a challenge in midfield and noticed goalkeeper Richardson in advance. In a very creative solution, the player hit just in front of the center line and surprised the Maranhão archer, scoring the celestial goal. See the beautiful goal:
Sampaio Corrêa’s equalizer only came at the end of the second half, when, in the 34th minute, striker Fonseca received a good pass and hit it high, with no chance of defense for goalkeeper Otávio.
The first game between Cruzeiro and Sampaio Corrêa will take place next Thursday (21), at 4:30 pm (Brasília time), at Arena Vera Cruz, in Betim, a city in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte.
