“Fora Sampaoli”: Flamengo fans detonate coach’s ‘tactical mess’ in defeat to Athletico

After the break for FIFA Data, Flamengo returned to the field this Wednesday (13) and irritated their fans. In Cariacica, Flamengo was defeated 2-0 by Athletico-PR, and lost the opportunity to climb the Brazilian Championship table. Coach Jorge Sampaoli did not escape criticism from the Red and Blacks, who criticized the Argentine coach’s choices and started ‘demanding’ his departure from the club.

Without being able to count on Ayrton Lucas (suspended) and Filipe Luís (injured), Sampaoli opted to improvise Thiago Maia at left-back. Original defender, David Luiz was selected as a midfielder and played one of his worst games with the red-black shirt. The Argentine coach’s ideas sent shivers down the spine of the Flamengo fans, who despaired at the team’s tactical mess and poor performance on the field.

On social media, red and black fans blasted Sampaoli’s ‘lambanças’ and called for the commander’s resignation. The criticism started even before the ball rolled. Based on the team’s lineup, Flamengo fans questioned the formation with three defenders and the absence of names like Éverton Ribeiro and Augustín Rossi.

It is worth noting that in addition to Sampaoli, David Luiz, Matheus Cunha, Thiago Maia, Wesley, Gabigol, among others, did not escape the judgment of a large part of the fans. See some reactions:

What are the chances of Sampaoli being fired?

Despite the enormous dissatisfaction of the red and black fans with Jorge Sampaoli, the chances of the coach being fired at this moment are practically zero. That’s because Flamengo is on the eve of the most important game of the year. This Sunday (17), Mais Querido faces São Paulo, at Maracanã, in a match valid for the first leg of the Copa do Brasil final.

The national knockout stage is Flamengo’s last chance to lift a trophy this season. The second and decisive match of the final is scheduled for September 24th (Sunday), also at 4pm (Brasília time), at Morumbi.
