Julius Mwale is the “mystery” investor that Alex Bunbury represents. The identity of the businessman who presented a proposal to buy SAD do Marítimo worth 43 million euros and who was represented in the negotiations by Alex Bunbury, a former Canadian international who represented the green-rubbers, has been revealed. He is Julius Mwale, 47 years old, a Kenyan multimillionaire who in his universe of companies owns KE International, the company involved in this business attempt with the maritime workers.
Mwale advances towards the acquisition of 40% of SAD, after his first proposal was rejected, placing three directors of his trust in the management of the company. The proposal totals 43 million euros: 21 million to capitalize SAD, seven million on loan to complete the stadium and, finally, 15 million to build a state-of-the-art academy elsewhere than in Santo António, which is still in the named after Carlos Pereira, previous president of Marítimo.
Today, the Maritimist Board will meet, at 6 pm, and the date for the General Assembly of members who will vote on this proposal must be agreed.
Based in the United States – he lives in New York -, Julius Mwale was in the Kenyan air force after finishing his university studies, but had to flee the country and lived in Uganda and Zimbabwe before leaving for the USA. He went back to school and founded SBA Technologies. He currently leads the Mwale Medical and Technological City project in his home country.
