Corinthians and Grêmio faced each other on Monday night (18), at the Neo Química Arena, and played a historic game. In a delayed match, valid for the 15th round of the Brazilian Championship, the teams tied 4-4, with breathtaking plays and two comebacks. Fans were excited about the confrontation and filled social media with reactions.

Grêmio started better and made it 2-0 with Nathan and Cristaldo. When everything seemed lost for Corinthians, Timão responded and turned the game around in the space of six minutes. Fábio Santos, Lucas Veríssimo and Yuri Alberto scored and gave Alvinegro a partial victory at halftime.

Corinthians and Grêmio experience opposite situations in the Brasileirão

Despite the balance on the field, Corinthians and Grêmio have completely different campaigns in the Brazilian Championship. Timão, guaranteed in the semi-finals of the Copa Sudamericana, is not doing well in the national tournament and only occupies 14th place, with 27 points won. In 23 rounds played, Alvinegro recorded six wins, nine draws and eight defeats.

Grêmio, in turn, reached 40 points and remained in third place, 11 points behind leader Botafogo. In the 23 matches played so far in the Brasileirão, Tricolor managed 12 wins, four draws and seven setbacks.
