Former midfielder Hernanes, an idol of São Paulo, published a riddle on his social networks that shook the São Paulo fans this Tuesday (19). Known by the nickname Prophet, he challenged fans to explain why the statement “Work is the application of force, but not all application of force is work”. Whoever gives the right answer will watch the grand final of the Copa do Brasil return next to the tricolor idol in his box at the Morumbi stadium.
– The rule of the game is as follows: I will declare a prophecy, a riddle, a question, and the first one to answer and prove to me by ‘A’ plus ‘B’ the reason for my question, the answer to my question, is that will be my chosen one. Since yesterday, Hernanes has excited the fans that he would launch the prophecy to be unveiled: “he’s going to have to sweat, he’s going to have to break his head”, said the former player, about the difficulty of the question. However, the Prophet did not define when he will announce the winner.
São Paulo hosts Flamengo this Sunday (24), when they decide the title of the Copa do Brasil, starting at 4pm (Brasília time). By winning the first leg 1 x 0, the Hernanes club has the advantage of a draw in the decision.
Tricolor has never won the Copa do Brasil in its history. At most, he was runner-up in 2000, defeated by Cruzeiro 2 x 1 at Mineirão after finishing zero at Morumbi. Flamengo, on the other hand, is the current champion and is looking for two, which would represent the fifth cup in the competition for Rubro-Negro – tying with Grêmio as the second biggest winner, behind only Cruzeiro with six.
After retirement, Hernanes released a book and took a coaching course
Hernanes retired in May 2022 after a career full of titles, mainly at São Paulo with essential participation in the 2007 and 2008 Brazilian Championships, and remarkable spells at Juventus, Inter Milan and Lazio, in addition to defending the Brazilian national team. Since retiring from the field, he has had a busy life off the field. Initially, in June of this year, he released the religious book “Letters from the Prophet”.
More recently, last month, alongside former players such as Frenchman Franck Ribéry, he completed the UEFA B coaching course through the Italian Football Federation. “I still don’t know exactly what role I will play in the football market, but I’m looking for knowledge to be able to take on roles in the area, should any opportunity arise,” said Profeta.
Living in Italy since last year, Hernanes is also dedicated to wine production and has a property where 10 thousand bottles are produced per year. According to GQ Magazine, the place is valued at 4 million euros (around R$20 million).
