Francisco Ramos was a colleague of the midfielder who has two goals and three assists in five games, praising his physical ability. Recovering from a serious injury, suffered in Poland, the Portuguese midfielder spoke to O JOGO about the qualities of the Brazilian, who was loaned to the island for the second consecutive season and is shining.

Last season, Francisco Ramos shared Nacional’s locker room with midfielder Gustavo, in what was the Brazilian’s first season at the club, in an adventure without great achievements to highlight and marked by three expulsions. The midfielder who is on loan from Comercial, from Série A2 of the São Paulo championship, was referred to as an interior midfielder, but is now being used as a winger and has been decisive in several games of the five rounds played.

Recovering from a serious injury suffered in the Polish championship, playing for Radomiak, Francisco Ramos spoke with O JOGO about the good moment of his former teammate. « Last year he arrived at Nacional coming from a lower series in Brazil and needed a year to adapt. Now he is reaping the rewards. Last season he had already shown very good characteristics and this year he is succeeding and cementing what he built », he argues, highlighting the midfielder’s ability to work.

After a 2022/23 season in which he provided two assists and scored a goal, Gustavo now assumes himself as one of the team’s figures, in another position on the field. Francisco Ramos highlights his « above average » physical ability that allowed him to quickly adapt to the role of right winger. « He’s playing a lot more. Physically he has conditions far above average, very good, and over there on the right, especially the winger, he manages to yield even more because he’s objective. He shoots well and is very vertical. many disruptive movements », he analyses.

Given this promising start, the player from Poveiro believes that the Brazilian will maintain his current record and continue to have a great season. « I think the right-wing position has been good for him, since he is physically very good, above average », highlighting another feature that has not yet been seen to the former colleague: « He also has aerial play and will do goals that way. Gustavo will have much better numbers. »

Without crutches and getting better

The chilling clash between Francisco Ramos and an opponent from Kraków (April 15), in which he fractured the tibia and fibula in his right leg, keeps the midfielder recovering and away from the pitch. Five months later, Francisco, who ran the risk of being amputated, continues « in the fight, recovering and improving day by day », although he reveals that the goal of returning to the pitch « is still far away ». He already walks without crutches, but the process he has ahead of him is a long one. Despite the injury, the midfielder remains linked to Radomiak. « I have a contract for two more years and the club has helped me a lot, it has always been with me. I am grateful to them », he thanks.
