Played at the Ligga Arena on Thursday night (21), the game between Athletico-PR and Internacional ended with a 2 x 1 victory for the Paraná team. Erick and Alex Santana scored for CAP, while Carlos de Pena scored for the visitors. Something seemed unanimous in the way the two fans saw the match: the two center forwards Pablo, from Furacão, and Luiz Adriano, from Colorado, had terrible performances.

The Athletico striker entered the match in the 10th minute, after Vitor Roque was replaced on a stretcher due to an ankle injury. In 88 minutes, Pablo had a lackluster performance and only had 24 touches of the ball. Criticism of the number 92 shirt also focused on coach Wesley Carvalho, for his choices during the match and not replacing the player.

In the case of Luiz Adriano, fans claimed that the center forward was “one less on the field” and the game was equalized when he was substituted. The player also missed a great chance in the match, causing more attacks from Colorado.

CAP victory keeps team in G6

Alex Santana came off the bench to give Furacão the victory, guaranteeing the team in another round in the G6. Eliminated in the Copas do Brasil and Libertadores, the team from Paraná only has the Brasileirão to compete in for the remainder of the season and a place in the main continental competition next season is the club’s objective.

Coach Wesley Carvalho continues as interim at Athletico-PR, even though he has been head coach for more than three months since the departure of Paulo Turra. The board must decide whether or not the professional will remain permanently at the end of the season.

Internacional used only two starters, showing that their total focus is the Libertadores. Colorado, coached by Argentine Eduardo Coudet, visits Fluminense, at Maracanã, next Wednesday (27), in the semifinals. The return is scheduled for October 4th, in Beira-Rio.

If they advance, Inter will play their fourth Liberta final. If he wins the title, it will be his third championship, equaling Grêmio, Santos, São Paulo, Palmeiras and Flamengo as the biggest winners in Brazil.

However, in the Brasileirão, the Porto Alegre team needs to turn on the alert, as they are at the bottom of the table, in 12th, with 29 points, just five more than Santos, the first team in the relegation zone. At this moment (considering not winning the Libertadores), they would only qualify for the Copa Sudamericana in 2024.
