Botafogo won, last Sunday, another important victory in the fight for the title of the Brazilian Championship. And the 3-0 victory over Bahia, at Nilton Santos, generated a lot of celebration in the stadium’s locker room. This Monday, the club released backstage images of the match and some scenes of the celebration caught the attention of fans on social media.
Suspended for the third yellow card, right-back Di Placido was not on the pitch on Sunday. However, he stayed in the locker room with the rest of the players before and after the match. And, after the 3-0 victory, the Argentine got excited, hung on to one of the lockers and jumped a lot while the players sang a song from the crowd: “Let’s go, let’s go, Botafogo…”.
Adm is just Di Placido’s energy with each victory!

Who was also at Nilton Santos even without being able to play was striker Tiquinho Soares. Recovering from an injury to his right knee, the team’s top scorer was also in the locker room and was celebrated by the players themselves after the match. Luís Henrique, who scored one of the goals on Sunday, played the song that the Botafogo fans sing for the number 9 shirt. Even apparently shy, Tiquinho ended up joining in the fun and jumped along with Luís, Hugo and Gabriel Pires.
There was also a party for the top scorer of the Brasileirão in the black and white locker room.

Victor Cuesta’s speech also draws attention
In the images released by Botafogo, the club also showed a little preparation before the ball rolls. And, still in the locker room, at the time of the players’ concentration, defender Victor Cuesta made a motivational speech and mentioned that the game against Bahia was the first of the three decisions that the team has this week.
– Three finals this week so we can rest with the family later. “Bora”, starts today. Don’t leave it for later, don’t wait for it to happen, make it happen – said Victor Cuesta to the other players.
Next Wednesday (30th), Botafogo faces Defensa y Justicia, in Argentina, for the second leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa Sudamericana. With a 1-1 draw in the first leg, Bruno Lage’s team needs a victory to advance to the semifinals. Then, on Saturday, Gorioso has the classic with Flamengo, at Nilton Santos, for the Brazilian Championship.
As Cuesta mentioned, after these three games, the team will have a rest period. With the Fifa Date and the start of the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, Botafogo will only play again on September 16, against Atlético-MG, at the MRV Arena, for the Brasilerão.
