Organized fans of Flamengo and Botafogo clashed this Saturday afternoon, hours before the classic at Nilton Santos. 12 people were arrested and three were injured. The Military Police of Rio de Janeiro confirmed the information.

The PM revealed that the confrontation began in Penha, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The police were called to the scene and carried out the arrests, in addition to taking the injured to the Getúlio Vargas Hospital.

Like what happened in the first round, Flamengo fans had only 10% of the ticket load available for the duel. The teams face each other at 9 pm (Brasília time), at Estádio Nilton Santos, for the 22nd round of the Brasileirão.

“The Press Office of the State Secretariat of Military Police informs that, this Saturday (9/2), military police officers from the 16th BPM went to verify the occurrence of a riot on Rua California, in Penha Circular, in the north zone of Rio de Janeiro. Arriving at the scene, the team found the fact. After certain, the police detained seven individuals. Three of them were injured and were taken to the Getúlio Vargas State Hospital.
