On Wednesday night (20), Flamengo wrote a new chapter of its tragic season. At Estádio da Serrinha, Mais Querido finished 0-0 against Goiás, in a game valid for the 24th round of the Brazilian Championship. More than the result itself, the red and black fans were irritated by the team’s lack of inspiration and excessive mistakes.
During and after the match, Flamengo fans criticized coach Jorge Sampaoli and the football played by the team. Few athletes were saved and, once again during the season, Mais Querido drove his fans to despair due to his tragic performance on the field.
“Shameless team”, “terrible game”, “what a horrible thing” were some of the comments published by red and black people on social media. The phrase “Flamengo de Sampaoli” became one of the most talked about topics on Twitter during the game in Goiânia.
Another pathetic match, what a ridiculous thing this team has become PQP

Man, regardless of the title, Sampaoli and about 10 other players have to be fired. It’s unbelievable how
They are unable to impose themselves and show a total lack of WILL to play ball. Every game is agony mixed with anger and DISGUSTING to see these guys representing 40mi.

Flamengo bets all its chips and throws its life into a decision at Morumbi
This Sunday (24), Flamengo plays its life in the season. After losing all the championships they played in the year, Rubro-Negro tries their last bid for the Copa do Brasil title. Starting at 4pm (Brasília time), Mais Querido will face São Paulo, at Morumbi.
It is worth remembering that in the first game of the national knockout round, the Gávea club was defeated 1-0, in the middle of Maracanã. To lift the cup in São Paulo, Fla needs to win by two or more goals. Triumph by one goal takes the decision to penalties. Any other result gives Tricolor the title.
In the Brasileirão, the Gávea club continues without great prospects and the tendency is for them to fight until the end of the competition for a place in the Copa Libertadores. With 40 points gained, Mengo occupies fifth place and can still be overtaken in the round.
Flamengo’s next games
- São Paulo x Flamengo – Copa do Brasil (final – return) – Morumbi – Sunday (24), at 4pm (Brasília time);
- Flamengo x Bahia – Brazilian Championship – Maracanã – Saturday (30), at 4pm (Brasília time);
- Corinthians x Flamengo – Brazilian Championship – Neo Química Arena – Saturday (07/10), at 9pm (Brasília time)
