O Flamengo Deliberative Council removed from its agenda the proposal that changed the club’s statute and prevented members with political positions from running for president and vice president. The session that would vote on the approval, or not, of the amendment ended up suspended due to confusion at the Rubro-Negro headquarters, in Gávea, last Thursday (14).

José Luiz Correa do Santos Filho, Reinaldo Coniglio Rayol Júnior and Alexandre José dos Santos de Almeida, councilors who proposed the amendment, withdrew the proposal through a petition, last Monday. The trio used the commotion as a reason for the fall.

“(…) Your presence comes, with style tributes, to promote the withdrawal of the proposed amendment to article 69 of the bylaws presented in the last session, due to the turmoil caused by a political group.

Therefore, in view of the considerations presented above, it is requested that this document be forwarded, so that it can be removed from the agenda, for subsequent amendment and improvement of the proposed amendment to the bylaws, with the sole purpose of ensuring a more transparent and didactic vote for the deliberative council

Other Flamengo agendas gain definitive character

After the councilors’ decision, the president of the Flamengo Deliberative, Antônio Alcides, declared the session definitively closed. In this way, the other agendas that were voted on, such as the extension of the term of office to four years, which ended up being vetoed, maintain the result.
