Palmeiras was at zero against rival Corinthians last Sunday (3), in a game for the Brazilian Championship. One of the reasons for the score to remain unchanged was Cássio, an alvinegro goalkeeper who made a beautiful save in a finish by Breno Lopes from Palmeirense. For Alviverde fans, the merit is not only in the rival’s archer, but in the attacker’s mistake.
This kick by Breno Lopes had 0.89xGOT(!!!!!!)
That is, the probability of that ball scoring after the kick was 89% and Cássio DEFENDED!!!!

The criticism doesn’t stop at Breno Lopes and Abel Ferreira is the target for choosing the athlete to enter the second stage, ahead of Endrick and Flaco López (who didn’t even play in the classic). Part of Palmeirense fans also mocks the term used by the Portuguese, which justifies the lineup of the hero of the 2020 Libertadores holder as a “hierarchy”, a factor that weighs in opportunities for younger people.
It’s Mr Abel Ferraira’s hierarchy, if he’s old he can play like a no-brainer, it’s good, new and promising has to take the bench.
In reality, Abel is creating a huge problem within Palmeiras by embracing these catfishes.– John. (@JoaoBatZzz) September 3, 2023
Huh. But aren’t you avanteens eternally grateful? And ah, the coach thinks he’s humble, right? Good group. Who can’t come is the Hulk, because it’s going to harm the cast internally, right… hahahahaahah enjoy!

It’s an animal. And worst of all is listening to Abel talk about hierarchy. The quality he shoves in…

Patience with Breno Lopes comes to an end for part of the crowd
Despite Abel being considered the “culprit” for choosing Breno, several fans have lost patience with the player and demand that he leave – his contract, however, runs until the end of 2024. There is a lot of gratitude for the goal scored against Santos that gave Alviverde the double of America, but that happened two years ago and since then the athlete has not shown the desired level.
At age 27, Breno Lopes has defended the Alviverde shirt since November 2020, just when Abel arrived at Palmeiras. Since then, he has played 143 games for the São Paulo club, with 20 goals scored. He was part of the squad that won two Libertadores, two Campeonatos Paulistas, a Brasileirão, a Copa do Brasil, a Supercopa do Brasil and a Recopa Sudamericana.
It is this player here that the coach defends tooth and nail.
And the other two players who created the play are the ones they criticize.
Breno Lopes, you are a disgrace and those who defend you are in agreement with your irresponsibility.
This bid here should coincide with the termination of… pic.twitter.com/DbCGeGUd4y

Thanks for everything, Breno Lopes.
It was worth it for the goal in Libertadores, it was worth it for the scoring, it was worth it for the character.

Dudu’s absence from the squad weakens Palmeiras for the remainder of the season
The opportunity for Breno Lopes happened, mainly, due to the serious injury suffered by Dudu, out of the rest of 2023. The absence of the alviverde idol leaves an important gap in the midst of a decisive moment of the season. At the end of the month, Palmeiras will visit Boca Juniors, at Bombonera, for the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores. The return, at Allianz Parque, is scheduled for the beginning of October.
In the Brasileirão, the dispute is arduous and only a vertiginous drop in Botafogo’s performance puts other clubs as candidates for the cup. Despite the defeat to rival Flamengo last Saturday (2), Glorioso has 51 points, 10 more than Palmeiras and 12 than Grêmio and Rubro-Negro. It is worth noting that Imortal has one game less and still has a direct confrontation, to be played in November for the 33rd round.
