Leader of the eagles will be appointed this Thursday in Berlin.
Rui Costa, president of Benfica, will be appointed this Thursday as a member of the board of the ECA (European Club Association) at the meeting that is taking place in Berlin and which will be attended by FC Porto, Sporting, Braga and V. Guimarães . The latter is part of this association for 2023/24, being represented in Germany by Pedro Coelho Lima, general director of Vitória.
At yesterday’s meeting it was also known that the ECA expelled Saint-Gilloise as a member on the understanding that the Belgian club, by joining the Union of European Clubs (UEC) violated the ECA statutes which stipulate that member clubs « should not be part of or a member of any other association.
