Who will Corinthians face in the semifinal?
After a lot of suffering and good doses of apprehension, Corinthians is in the semifinal of the Copa Sudamericana. And it is known that Timão’s opponent will be a Brazilian team. That’s because Fortaleza x América-MG face each other on the other side of the key and compete for the other vacancy.
In the first leg, played in Belo Horizonte, Leão do Pici won and beat Coelho by 3 to 1. The return match is scheduled for this Thursday (31), at 7 pm (Brasília time), in Castelao Arena.
The Corinthians campaign in Sudamericana
Corinthians is in the Copa Sudamericana thanks to its campaign in the Libertadores. Third in Group E, Timão ended up ‘relegated’ to the other tournament. His first challenge at Sula was to eliminate Universitario, from Peru. With two wins (1 to 0 and 2 to 1), the Luxembourg team had no fears.
