The CBF announced, this Tuesday, two important changes in Vasco’s schedule of games in September. The Entity confirmed the change in the dates of the matches against Coritiba, for the 24th round, and América-MG, delayed game of the 15th round of the competition.
The match against Coritiba was scheduled for September 19 (Tuesday), and moved to the 21st (Thursday), at 7 pm (Brasília time). This could be the match that will mark the public’s return to São Januário. The club is optimistic about the formalization of the Conduct Adjustment Term (TAC) with the Public Ministry.
Next Wednesday, a meeting with the Attorney General’s Office may lead to the formalization of the TAC. However, Vasco has already confirmed that the classic against Fluminense, on September 16 (Saturday), will be at Nilton Santos. Thus, the first game with an audience should be Coritiba.
In addition to the match with Coxa, the duel with América-MG, at Arena Independência, also had its date changed. Previously scheduled for September 23, Saturday, the game moved to the following Monday, the 25th, at 8 pm (Brasília time). This match, valid for the 15th round of the Brasileirão, had to be postponed due to commitments between América-MG in the Copa Sudamericana and Copa do Brasil.
The matches against Coritiba and América-MG are direct clashes for Vasco in the fight against relegation in the Brazilian Championship. Currently, Cruz-Maltino is in 18th place, with 17 points. Coelho comes just below, in 19th place, with 16 points, and Coxa is the bottom, with 14 points.
Vasco squad reappears on Thursday
After the draw with Bahia, last Sunday, and the return to Rio de Janeiro, on Monday, Vasco’s squad received two days off due to the break in the Brasileirão games for Data-Fifa. The cast reappears next Thursday (7), at CT Moacyr Barbosa.
However, some players who need physical readjustment continue training at the club’s CT, even with the break given by the board. These are the cases of midfielder Payet and striker Rossi. The two were recently hired and even played for the club, but came from a long period without games and are trying to recover the best physical shape.
