Euro 2012 Away Jersey Presented

In a ceremony on Sunday, Nike officially presented Portugal’s away kit for Euro 2012. The design is exactly the same as the leaked photo from a month back, being white with a red/green cross. Paulo Bento, Nelson Oliveira, Danilo Pereira, Raul Meireles, Bruno Alves, and Miguel Veloso were all present at the presentation. This is the jersey that will be worn in Portugal’s friendly against Poland tomorrow. Here are some of the pictures.

Portugal Home Jersey Unveiled

I am slightly confused about this one. For Euro 2008, there was an official unveiling which involved a press conference with Bruno Alves and Ricardo wearing the new jersey. I guess that was the way that Scolari did it. Evidently, the new World Cup home jersey would be released May 1. What I thought that meant was that it would be released officially in a press conference, not just automatically released into stores. So anyway, here are some pictures I found around the internet.

If you are interested in buying this jersey, Fox Soccer Shop, Eurosport, and World Soccer Shop are the safest options.

World Cup Jersey Unofficially Unveiled

The design for the jersey that Portugal will be wearing at this summer’s World Cup has been leaked, and here are the photos:

Home Kit

This kit has been criticized in many Portuguese forums, but that is to be expected. It is impossible to please everyone when making a kit. What you have to do is design a kit that represents the country well, and will get the least amount of criticism. My opinion? I think that this is a better thought out jersey than the one we have now. I am excited to see the green pants again. As for the away kit, I have one word: Awesome. Our supposed new away kit is one of the coolest kits I’ve seen in a while. Lets hope that the players in this kit show what Portugal is made of, and do well. FORCA PORTUGAL!
