OFFICIAL: Fabio Faria to Benfica

Rio Ave fullback Fabio Faria is set to make a move to league hopefulls Benfica. The move will not begin in the 2009-2010 season, but instead Faria will be moving to the Eagles at the beginning of the 2010-2011 season. Surely this is a wise move for Faria, as the side back positions at Benfica are two of the most wide-open positions on the team. Having had a good run at Rio Ave this season, Faria was called up for the Portuguese under 21 side. Faria has played against the likes of Greece and England, so his experience level was probably on of the deciding points for Benfica. The fee for this transfer: 2 milion pounds. Not too shabby.
