Siena to Dinamo Kiev?
According to reports coming out of Portugal, Siena is currently negotiating with Dinamo Kiev over the transfer of Luis Neto. The central defender has been a bright spot in Siena’s dismal campaign. The club currently sits at the base of Serie A, and relegation looks likely. Clubs such as Juventus, Napoli, and Roma have been interested in Neto, and a move looks likely. A release clause is set at 16 million euros, but something as low as 6 million may be enough to pry him away from Siena. If he were to move to Dinamo Kiev, he would join up with fellow countryman Miguel Veloso.
Portugal 0-1 Ukraine
A hapless performance resigned the Portuguese under-21 team to a disappointing 1-0 defeat against a sharp Ukraine side. Though not much was expected of this game, the performance from the Seleccao was nevertheless disappointing.
Rui Jorge began in this game what must happen every two years or so. All of the U-21 players who were vital to the team in the previous qualifying campaign for the U21 Euro are dropped, and a new crop is called upon. This presents problems in terms of getting a result, because many of the players have never played on the same team together. Team chemistry is low, which may explain the result yesterday. Team chemistry will come, however.
The game started relatively brightly for the hosts, as Edu shot barely over the net. Ukraine then had a chance of their own, which Joao Pinho expertly punched away. The deadlock was broken minutes later, when Noyok scored for the visitors. Sergio Oliveira then had a free-kick fly narrowly wide of the Ukrainian goal. Portugal was pressing, but there was a distinct lack of quality in their play. The second half passed without much action, minus a last-minute header from Josue which rattled the post. That was how the game ended: Portugal 0-1 Ukraine.

Portugal U-21 team coach Rui Jorge called on twenty players for the team’s upcoming friendly match against Ukraine. The team is currently sitting in second in their U-21 Euro qualification group, behind Russia, and will look to continue their good form and push for the number one spot, and will use this friendly as a springboard towards that goal. Four players who featured at last summer’s U-20 World Cup made the team, those being Danilo, Mika, Luis Martins, and Cedric.
